TEHRAN- “The House in the Pines” by American author Ana Reyes has recently been published in Persian.

Translated by Sara Rusta, the book has been published by Shalgardan Publications in Tehran.

In the gripping tale of "The House in the Pines," Maya finds herself thrust back into a world she has long tried to forget, driven by hazy memories of her friend Aubrey's mysterious death and the enigmatic figure of Frank lurking in the shadows of her past. As a high school senior, Maya witnessed Aubrey's sudden demise in Frank's presence, a haunting event that has haunted her for years.

Now residing in Boston with a supportive friend and battling a secret addiction that has been her solace through the trauma of her past, Maya's carefully constructed life is shaken when she stumbles upon a chilling YouTube video showing a familiar scene—a young woman collapsing in the presence of Frank. This eerie reminder catapults Maya back to her hometown in the Berkshires, where she must confront the ghosts of her past and uncover the truth behind Aubrey's death.

Delving into the fragments of her memories and uncovering hidden messages within her father's book, Maya is propelled on a journey of self-discovery and redemption. As she unravels the intertwined threads of Frank's influence, jealousy, and betrayal that colored that fateful summer, Maya realizes that her survival hinges on deciphering a story written before her time.

With time slipping away and the shadows of the past drawing closer, Maya's quest for answers leads her back to the ominous cabin in the pines, where the truth, more horrifying than she could have ever imagined, awaits her. In a race against time, Maya must confront her demons, face the darkest corners of her soul, and ultimately find the strength to break free from the grips of her haunted past.
